After a hearty breakfast in Las Vegas we set off in the Mustang to the western end of the Grand Canyon; about a six hour round trip – and well worth it.
We arrived at the car park at the end of quite a long dirt road and did not have to wait long for a bus to take us to the canyon. The land is owned and managed by the Hualapai people who had everything well organised.
This is not the Grand Canyon that most people see, but it is as breathtaking as you probably imagined it to be. And even in late November it is still quite hot.
If ever you are in the US – and especially Las Vegas – ask about getting to Grand Canyon West.
