From perfect sleep to perfect tea – and coffee?
I find myself buoyed by a perfect sleep score, excellent tea and a pleasant sunny morning. I look forward to me morning cappuccino but it is not perfect, merely very good. Which gets me to thinking about the Algerian Coffee Stores in Soho and will I ever own an espresso machine?

Dreaming of Gardens!
My lawn is crispy and my garden is frazzled – and I wish I could do more – a lot more – to make it the kind of space I would love, enjoy and spend more time in. Sadly, that will never happen.

Adapting to the Heat?
I feel good this morning. Mornings are the most pleasant part of the day in a heatwave. Opening doors and windows at 5am brings coolth into the home, but doors must be shut earlier each day as the heatwave progresses. And I have developed a new coping mechanism that I never thought I would find…

Birthday on Mars?
My scales made me smile with a birthday message and then I got to thinking now about what I was thinking 50 years ago: what would 2026 be like? I had a vivid imagination and thought there might be a possibility of me making a trip to Mars – back then that seemed possible.

I need to consider buying an espresso machine: would I buy Sage again?
I am not enjoying my morning cappuccino as much as I used to, which is a shame as it is one of the few luxuries I continue to enjoy in retirement. The problem is not my tastebuds but my espresso machine, which should have lasted longer than it has. A great deal longer.

Energy Saving!
My diary this morning led me to my energy bill for yesterday, the first day of the month, and then onto why I am such an energy geek, reading my meter every week when I have smart meters!
