Why do I write this diary? Today the mystery of bins: how do they appear on the pavement? How do they return to their natural homes? A weekly event we tend not to think about – too much.

Complex Geopolitics?
War is complex but potential outcomes can be known and quantified. On just one aspect of geopolitics we, perversely, have to hope that Russia will step in to make good the likely shortfall in oil supplies to Asian countries – in order to reduce the pain for us.

Ambient Vision?
I was having no thoughts this morning, until something odd and seemingly mundane occurred to me: I am sat facing the wrong way. The view I have is a monotonous tone, but my normal view is a glorious sweep of ambient vision. I need to return to my normal sitting position!

Window Repair?
My landlord will pay a visit to look at what can be done to a broken window. It is plastic and therefore problematic: can it be repaired or will it have to be replaced?

Carbon to Hydrogen Economy?
A conversation yesterday got me thinking about major missed opportunities, and in particular with regard to Britain’s energy systems – and making the transition from the carbon economy to the hydrogen economy as painless as possible.

Garden Everywhere!
A gardener is at work in my garden this morning, which made me think how I have been unable to live without a garden, no matter how small. Even my 10th. floor council flat had a garden – of sorts!
